Uses Solar power has many uses. It can be used anywhere to give power. Here are some different ways to use it.
1. City residentioal homes - A pv system can be hooked up to just about anything. In this case, a pv system is hooked up to the building (on the roof, etc) to supply the house with power. Batteries are needed if you want it to be a complete system without the help of the grid. The batteries store energy for a cloudy day and are charged by the cells.
2. Industrial applications- remote locations use solar energy for power, because it would be more expensive to get a powerline out there.
3. Lighting, heating, and water pumping- Anywhere solar energy can be used to power an appliance- or a whole building. Schools, churches or anything else can use it. Central Village power can be used to power a town with solar energy instead of only one house. Solar power can pump water to a remote place.
4. Central Power- Major power to power a large area is called central power. While in the other systmes, the user is close to the source, in central power, power lines can send energy far away. These are now used in U.S., Italy, and Spain.
5. Comercial building- on offices and factories panels can be placed, giving power. They can be placed on balconies or roofs. They can also be placed on vertical walls.
